Sharnnie and Jamie – Severn Valley Engagement Shoot

It’s always nice when someone likes what you do. However, when Jamie asked if I’d take some engagement pictures for him and his fiancé Sharnnie I was especially chuffed. You see, Jamie is a photographer himself, so as well as feeling that it was a great compliment, I must admit feeling a teeny bit of extra pressure to perform.

Built in the 1860′s, Bridgnorth Severn Valley Railway Station provided the setting for a vintage style shoot and with no train services running through the Winter it was also nice and quiet – an added bonus. Jamie (being a photographer) couldn’t resist bringing along a camera – a good old fashioned polaroid, which I loved! I can’t believe that I don’t own one! We had some fun with the polaroid doing a ‘shoot within a shoot’, after which there was a bit of jumping on and off carriages and generally messing about with all the vintage luggage on offer. Sharnnie and Jamie were great to shoot and real good fun to be around – here are a few of my favourites from the session.

Letitia and Jake – engagement shoot

I usually try and accommodate all of my clients photography requests, but when Letitia and Jake asked for their engagement photos to be taken in the snow, things pretty much seemed out of my hands. It is supposedly possible to modify the weather by ‘cloud seeding’ and that did sound like great fun, but in the end we thought it better to just sit tight and wait instead. We scheduled a few possible dates in December and kept a good eye on the forecast. It worked!! Ok, well we didn’t have mountains of the stuff, but a little bit was better than none. We were able to throw a few snowballs at each other anyway which is all that really matters and when the low December sun eventually decided to come out for a few moments, the light was wonderful.

Letitia and Jake were the best!! So full of enthusiasm and energy, climbing trees and never once complaining about how cold and wet it was. As the day moved on we went to the Trentham Gardens Estate in Stoke which proved to be a fantastic place to have a stroll around and enjoy taking a few photos. It really does have everything you could want as a photographer. Most importantly for us though towards the end of the day was it’s well positioned coffee shop – perfect for warming up from the bitter cold! Hot chocolates all round!

Congratulations, Letitia and Jake on your engagement. You seriously rock! My very best wishes with your wedding preparations.

Letitia and Jake – sneak preview

This weekend I travelled up to Stoke and met up with the lovely Letitia and Jake who had recently got engaged. They really wanted their engagement shots to be taken in the snow and …well I’m not going to tell you whether we managed to pull that off just yet, I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait for me to create the full post! Call back again soon!

In the meantime allow me to tease you with this preview shot of the day.
